Our Minister

Rev Robert Foster started his ministry in Headcorn at the beginning of October 2024 having grown up in Ipswich. After 51 years of living there he finds himself moving counties to be with us in Headcorn.

Robert went regularly to Rushmere Baptist Church with his family but stopped attending in his teens. He returned to the church in 2011 and gave his life to Christ on Easter Sunday. While at an Alpha course he sensed God’s call into Baptist ministry. Over the next six years his pastoral and teaching ministry grew as he both supported Rushmere Baptist Church and other churches in Suffolk. Having worked in various administration support roles in and around Ipswich, both in the private and public sector, Robert was called into Baptist ministry in 2017. He served as a minister-in-training at Whitehouse Baptist Church in Ipswich whilst undertaking a BA Hons degree in Theology at Spurgeon's College in London. Following the completion of his training in 2020 Robert became the minister at Whitehouse where he remained until the end of 2023.

Robert enjoys spending time in Cheshire with his sister Heather, brother-in-law Kevin and their lovely Border Collie Tai. He likes reading, walking in the Kent countryside, watching F1 and aeroplanes (especially Spitfires). He also likes to make plastic model kits and occasionally plays golf (usually very badly). He is especially looking forward to welcoming and meeting new people at the church and in the village.
